Ghouls just want to have fun! Join the Prattaugan Museum for its first Interactive Ghost Hunt event. The event is in Partnership with The Southern Ghost Girls Tours, who will be bringing their ghost hunting equipment, to find the ghosts of Prattville’s past.
The event will take place at the Prattaugan Museum, Oct. 17th from 6:30-9:30 p.m. where attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Prattaugan Museum Director Jordan Scott confirmed that this is a family-friendly event and that kids are welcome to participate, However, kids under 18 are asked to be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are available and space is limited. Tickets are $55 and can be bought ahead of time on eventbright at:
Scott confirmed that most of the proceeds will be going straight back to the museum and will particularly help towards the preservation efforts with the Autauga Country Heritage Association.
The team will lead you on the interactive ghost hunt using state-of-the-art paranormal investigation equipment just like you see on all of the paranormal TV shows. You will get hands on experience using the equipment. You will also get to see and capture evidence for yourself if any spirits of the past still reside in the museum.
Participants will see the historical artifacts of Autauga County that are housed and displayed in the museum as you investigate after hours in the dark.
“They (The Southern Ghost Girls) are coming into our area because Prattville has a rich myth history and they really enjoy looking into smaller museums, and smaller historical homes like ours. They will bring in all of their equipment and it’s going to be a really fun, family -friendly event in honor of spooky season,” Scott said.
According to the event Facebook page, The Prattaugan Museum has had several ghostly happenings occur in the past and the phenomenon will be highlighted at the event.
The professional team of investigators will lead participants during the investigation in a safe space to explore. Questions and participation are strongly encouraged. The event will go on rain or shine, Scott confirmed.
“Even with a lot of the more fun aspects of the event, a serious tone will come in when we start looking into the history of the house. So aside from all of the spooky fun, because we are a museum, there’s going to be educational opportunities throughout the event and we will go into some of the historical significance of this house and where it stood for generations,” Scott said.
Let the chills and thrills at the Prattaugan Museum unfold and trick or treat yourself to this spooky season with the first ever Interactive Ghost Hunt, Oct. 17th.
