The Prattville Cultural Arts Department has started to embrace the “spooky season,” with their annual Jeepers Creepers Car Show at Spillway Park last Saturday. Participants showcased their fa-boo-lous Halloween inspired decorations.

Spillway Park was filled with cars of all kinds on display with decorations consisting of items that were bad to the “bone” with skeletons on display, oversized creepy crawlers such as spiders and ghouls and Halloween classics like Ghostface from Scream, and Jason from Friday the 13th on display.

Prattville Cultural Arts Manager Mynecia Steele stated that the department hosts many car shows throughout the year, however this is one of the bigger ones. Steele confirmed that last year for the Jeepers Creepers car show, they had over 106 entries

“We have a few throughout the year but this one is of a spooky theme for the October Halloween feel of this time of year. Of course, as the name suggests, Jeepers Creepers is mainly focused on Jeeps. But any cars are welcome, and in fact we always have quite a few of the classic cars line up in the show, too,” Steele said.

Other cars included a 1925 fire truck, corvettes, and other unique vehicles decked out and decorated for Halloween fun. Food trucks and a live DJ were also present to keep the Jeepers Creepers party rolling all Saturday afternoon.

“It’s just a fun time to socialize, hang out, see some really cool cars, and to have fun and decorate for Halloween in this time of year,” Steele said.
