English as a Second Language Class
Learning hasn’t stopped just because it’s summer break!
Last week, English as a Second Language hosted a week-long language camp for EL students. The under-the-sea-themed camp focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening with special guest readers, including Superintendent Lymen Woodfin.
“Summer learning works to combat the ‘summer slide’ by reviewing content and exposing students to English through the summer months. Targeted instruction helps students succeed in areas of weakness to get them ready to start back to school,” English as a Second Language, ESL specialist with Autauga County Schools, Hannah Meherg said.
