The moment most Autauga County parents have been waiting for is just around the corner! August 7th is the first official day of school for Autauga County Schools. But before school can start, students need supplies.

The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Autauga County Education Foundation and Autauga County Schools, ACS, to help stuff the bus.

On July 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marriott Legends in Prattville will be the first event.

The second will take place July 18th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Prattville, Autauga County residents and businesses are encouraged to donate school supplies and literally “stuff” the bus full of much-needed items for the upcoming school year.

“Community participation in the Autauga Education Foundation’s Stuff the Bus event is a great reminder of all the people in our community who desire to see the system succeed. Most importantly, it shows our students that they can accomplish anything because our communities are behind them all the way,” director of elementary curriculum and instructional services for Autauga County Schools, Holly McNider said

This is an event geared towards collected school supplies for all ages K-12. Not only is this fundraiser helpful in bringing the community together in supporting local schools and students, but it’s a great way to provide some much-needed relief to families within the Autauga County community.

“We are thankful for the continued generosity of our community! We are fortunate to have so many supporters who believe in the power of togetherness and the impact it can have on others,” Autauga County Schools said in a statement with Elmore Autauga News.

Supplies such as binders, hand sanitizer, pens, pencils, art supplies, notebooks, Kleenex and so much more are just some of the supplies ACS and partners of this event are looking for.

This event and the supplies donated will go towards Autauga County students and will also help to bridge the gap and bring relief to administration, educators, and numerous families throughout the school district.

So come out and STUFF THE BUS!
