Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Officially Opens the Doors for Everyone
What: The Mid-South RC&D Council and The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts are celebrating the opening of a community art studio. With new furnishings and technology provided by the Mid-South RC&D Council, this studio allows The Kelly to branch into the field of digital arts and advance the artistic capabilities of children in the area. Art Start is a public art program full of fun activities for children.
Who: Elmore County will come together to celebrate the opening of the studio. A class full of children has signed up to be the first to access this new equipment for Art Start. Additionally, Senator Will Barfoot, Representative Troy Stubbs, and Representative Reed Ingram will be present in support of the work completed by Mid-South and The Kelly. The Mid-South RC&D Elmore County Council members will attend, along with affiliates of The Kelly.
When: The Art Start event will officially begin at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. However, the ribbon-cutting ceremony with legislators will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Where: The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts (301 Hill Street, Wetumpka, AL, 36092)
Why: The ribbon-cutting celebration concludes a year’s hard work for the Kelly Foundation and signifies new, local opportunities for citizens. Made possible by the grants provided by the Mid-South RC&D Council, this FY 2024 Educational Grant allows children to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by exploring the world of digital art.
