The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Mobility Plus to the Millbrook community. The Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday morning commemorating the opening and start to the Millbrook business community.
While Mobility Plus is a national company, local franchise owners Tim and Angie McCullough bring the hometown feel to Mobility Plus of Millbrook. Since 2007, Mobility Plus has provided mobility equipment to aging Americans with disabilities, disabled veterans and more.
“We both very much have a heart for other people, and this is just a great opportunity to help others and our backgrounds really support that. With Angie being a nurse and me being technical and in management the last 20 years I really feel like God has prepared us our whole lives for this,” Tim said.
Mobility Plus offers a range of mobility type aids, from scooters, walkers and shower chairs to power chairs, ramps and transfer chairs. Tim stated there’s two sides to the business. The day-to-day aids, and the other side is home access. Home access can mean anything from stair lifts, ramps or even vertical platform lifts that can be up to 12 feet high.
Angie has been a nurse for the past 11 years, and Tim is a fourth-generation millwright, creating the perfect combination of technical, mechanical and medical knowledge for the success of Mobility Plus in Millbrook.
“We are so excited for you and welcome you on behalf of the chamber and the community. Here at the Chamber, we really try to bring opportunity to local businesses by coming together, strengthening each other and also supporting each other and that’s what we’re doing today,” President of the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Brenda Dennis said.
Dennis went on to recognize the Chamber board members and ambassadors in attendance. Millbrook council members Michael Gay and Chris Bath were also in attendance as well as several other business owners and members of the community.
“As you can see Highway 14 is coming alive, and I appreciate the investment in Millbrook. It’s folks like this making investments in Millbrook and our future that is what is going to make this work. We want to see the businesses in Millbrook succeed,” Gay said.
