Every year since 1986, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce has proudly hosted the Prattville City Fest in Historic Downtown Prattville. This year marks the 36th annual event, which is scheduled for May 10-11.

City Fest takes the party to the streets of Historic Downtown Prattville, with the promise of live music, shopping, great food and activities for all ages.

Last year CityFest attracted over 15,000 people that flocked to the streets to enjoy the festivities, shop and support local, Marketing and Communications Director Brooke Glover confirmed.

“We are most excited about the opportunity to showcase our Historic Downtown to not only our very own residents but also to tourists and travelers that are coming to the area. In addition, we are excited about bringing in 12,000 to 15,000 people to Prattville and Autauga County,” President of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, Patty VanderWal said.

Entry is $2, military is $1 and children under five get in free. Opening ceremonies will be held Friday evening, May 10th at 5:45 p.m. with a free concert of The Tip Tops from Mobile. They will take the stage to follow. The Chamber has encouraged patrons to come early, bring blankets, chairs and enjoy a fun evening in downtown Prattville.

Saturday and day two of City Fest starts at 9 a.m. sharp, where vendors will line the streets of historic downtown from Court Street past the Picker house. Fun festivities for the whole family are planned. Gates will close at 4 p.m. Saturday evening.

“This year will be similar to previous years, but we have a lot of new vendors this year with some exciting products to showcase and sell. It will be a great way to shop for Mother’s Day. Also, the downtown shops will be open for everyone to enjoy some downtown shopping,” VanderWal said.

Saturday’s music lineup consists of the Blackbird Pickers at 10 a.m., the Taylor Bagi Band at 12 p.m. and The Alex Walker Band at 2 p.m. It has been advised that no skateboards, bikes, golf carts or alcohol are allowed at the event.

“Sponsors really give us the capability to put on a festival for our businesses and our community that helps to showcase our area and bring tourists and residents to our downtown,” VanderWal said.
