MONTGOMERY POST — A crash involving two commercial vehicles that occurred at approximately midnight Thursday, May 5, has claimed the life of a Prattville man. Leslie Wayne Deloach, 45, was fatally injured when the 1990 Kenworth semi-truck he was driving failed to stop at a stop sign before making a right turn onto U.S. 80 east and then colliding head-on with a 2000 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Jay Hardy, 54, of Flower Mound, Texas.
Deloach was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Baptist South Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Hardy also was transported to Baptist South with serious injuries. The crash occurred on U.S. 80 west near the 122 mile marker, in Montgomery County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
