On Thursday March 17 the Millbrook Middle School Band traveled to Birmingham to perform at the Alabama Bandmasters Music Performance Assessment. This is an event in which band programs perform three pieces of music for certified adjudicators who evaluate a band’s performance based on the categories of Tone, Intonation, Technique, Rhythm, Balance, and Musicianship.
The MMS Band made up of 6th, 7th and 8th graders earned an overall Superior rating including a Superior rating in “Sight reading.” Sight reading is an evaluation of how well the band can perform a piece of music they’ve never seen or rehearsed.
The Millbrook Middle School Band’s next performance will be Thursday April 28 at 6pm at the SEHS Gym. We are all tremendously proud of the Millbrook Middle School Band and their accomplishments this year!
