OAHS PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT- HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUTAUGA COUNTY! Exactly 203 years ago on this date, Nov. 21, 1818, AUTAUGA COUNTY was created as a part of the Alabama Territory. At that time, it included parts of present-day Elmore west of the Coosa River and south of Chestnut Creek in Chilton Counties. The map is from early-1830s. You will not find Autaugaville or Prattville on it as they didn’t hit on radar until the mid-1830s.
