Millbrook Public Library Pre-School Story Hour is Back! Drop by learn about Activities

Everyone needs to come check out the Millbrook Public Library in Millbrook, Alabama for books of all ages. Every Thursday morning Angie Dewberry does a story and craft time from 10 to 11 a.m.

This weeks theme was all about Ghosts.

“The last time we had a preschool story hour was back in February 2020. We have not had one since the COVID pandemic. We were happy to have brought back the preschool story hour and we will keep doing the preschool story time every Thursday with exception of holidays. We are taking a break from the story time during Christmas and the New Years and will pick back up in the middle of January,” Dewberry said.

Linda Moore is the Director for the Millbrook Public Library. Angie Dewberry is the Assistant Director and children’s Librarian.

Dewberry has been with Millbrook Public Library for 25 years. She enjoys reading to all the children and looks forward to their visits and talks. Kimberly Breen is a circulation librarian and has been with Millbrook Public Library for over two years.

Breen is over the Creative Writing program that the Millbrook Public Library had before the COVID pandemic started. The program was shut down due to COVID. Breen said, “The Creative Writing class is open now and its open for all ages. Now that I can bring it back, I look forward to meeting everyone who signs up for this class and they will learn more about creative writing as well.”

The first class will start on November 6th. Breen also has an English degree from college.

Christian Long is a circulation librarian who has been with Millbrook Public Library for over four years. She enjoys meeting everyone that comes into the library.

Pre-School Story Hour Dates to Remember:

-October 21st– Skeleton Stories and Crafts

-October 28th– Halloween Stories and Crafts, Wear your costume and trick-or-treat at the library

-November 4th– Squirrel Stories and Crafts

-November 18th– Thanksgiving Stories and Crafts

-December 2nd– Ornaments

-December 8th– Angels

-December 15th– Reindeer

They will resume story hours after the holidays on January 13th 2022. Come to the Millbrook Library for stories, crafts, and fun in the new year!

Every Wednesday through December, the library also is offering a craft and worksheet kit to preschoolers. Theme will change weekly and the full schedule is listed on their Facebook page.

If you have not visited the Millbrook Library, you should come and meet these lovely employees that work at the facility. .

If you are looking for a particular book, they will make sure to find it for you. Angie is looking forward to seeing all of the children again and is excited to read stories to them as well.

Please make sure you save these dates to your calendar, listen to a story from Angie during pre-school story time, and make fun crafts to take home as well.
