On June 9, 2020 the Montgomery Police identified a woman that had been fatally shot on Tuesday, June 8, 2020 as 63-year-old Loretta Butler.
Montgomery Patrol Units and medics were called to the 200 block of Garden Homes Circle around 6:49 a.m. after a report of a shooting. At the scene, Loretta Butler was found fatally shot. The circumstances surrounding the shooting still remain under investigation. No arrests have been made and Investigators are still searching for answers.
Family members reached out to CrimeStoppers describing Loretta as a loving person having no enemies that would warrant such a violent act. Family members released photos of the victim in the hopes that someone will come forward with information.
District Councilman Oronde K. Mitchell has offered a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest concerning the Murder Investigation of Loretta Butler. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is also offering a $1,000 reward bringing the total reward to $2,000.
