Qualifying for all Municipal Elections in our area closes today, July 21, at 5 p.m. These elections will include City Council and Mayoral positions. We will have an update on the complete list of those who successfully qualified in various communities in our area beginning tomorrow.
Please let us know of any political debates/forums that will be scheduled between now and election day! We will promote those if all candidates are invited to take part for that particular forum. We will not cover individual events or individual candidate’s meet and greet events.
Remember, the Elmore/Autauga News will run one FREE political announcement for your candidacy if you are running for municipal office. After that, we will only cover events where all candidates are involved. If you are interested in advertising your candidacy after your free announcement on our website and Facebook page, please contact Carla Wilson at 334-285-1299. If you have an announcement of your candidacy that we have not yet run on our website and Facebook page, please email 500 words or less and a suitable photo to Sarah Stephens at [email protected].
The Elmore/Autauga News will not endorse any candidate for any office, and we strive to be fair and impartial regarding any election process in our area. We will be covering events related to the election when it is appropriate.
Regardless of your candidate preference, please remember to vote on Aug. 25, 2020 in your particular community. Every vote will count!
