Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons has announced the launch of Prattville Extended Hours, a new service designed to provide convenient, walk-in orthopaedic care for residents of Prattville and surrounding communities.
With extended evening and weekend availability, Prattville Extended Hours offers patients access to specialized care for bone, joint, and muscle injuries without the need for an appointment.
The service is now available at the Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons Prattville office and is open:
- Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
This new offering is intended to meet the needs of active families, student-athletes, and working individuals who may experience injuries outside of traditional clinic hours.
“Prattville and the surrounding areas continue to grow, and with that growth comes a need for more accessible healthcare options,” said Dr. Perry Hooper, sports medicine specialist for Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons. “Prattville Extended Hours gives patients a way to skip the ER and avoid driving out of town, while still receiving orthopaedic specialized and sports medicine care close to home at times that fit their schedule.”
Unlike a traditional urgent care or emergency room, Prattville Extended Hours is focused solely on orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Patients are treated by providers experienced in evaluating and managing issues such as sprains, strains, sports injuries, minor fractures, joint pain, and other musculoskeletal concerns.
By offering this type of specialized care in a walk-in setting, Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is providing a new option for the community that has not previously been available in Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, or surrounding communities.
Patients are seen by Dennis McMillian, PA-C, who brings experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, and orthopaedics, with a focus on treating acute injuries and helping patients return to their normal activities.
The goal of Prattville Extended Hours is to give patients a convenient alternative for orthopaedic injuries, reducing the need to travel or rely on general medical settings for specialized care.
