Millbrook Police Department
On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 5:41 AM, Millbrook police and fire rescue units responded to the 4100 block of Highway 14 in response to a report of a single vehicle traffic collision. Upon arriving on scene, responding officers and fire department personnel discovered a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which had run through the Living Word Church, which is located at 4102 Highway 14. The vehicle exited the rear of the building, struck a truck trailer, continuing into a business, Hometown Small Motors, at 4110 Highway 14, before coming to a final stop. The vehicle’s driver and lone occupant, later identified as Cedrick Langford, a 54 year-old Millbrook resident, was declared deceased at the scene.
Officers with the department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene to conduct a traffic homicide investigation. The scene was turned over to investigators.
After speaking with our accident investigators, it appears that the victim may have experienced some type of medical emergency prior to his vehicle leaving the roadway. According to witness statements and evidence observed at and near the scene, the victim was travelling eastbound on Highway 14, when it left the roadway, crossing the parking lot at Colonial Plaza, prior to crashing into the building at 4102 Highway 14.
The victim’s body was turned over to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science, who will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Our Traffic Homicide investigators will examine all evidence, to include the victim’s vehicle, in an effort to determine any factors that may have contributed to this tragic event. At this time there are no apparent indicators of what may have caused this collision. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Langford’s family as they process the loss of their loved one.
