From: P.K. Johnson

Millbrook Police Department

On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at approximately 3:40 PM, a Millbrook police officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 14, near Wisteria Place, at a high rate of speed, waving in and out of traffic without due regard for the safety of motorist in the area. The officer activated his emergency equipment, at which point the vehicle continued eastbound, while accelerating their speed. The vehicle, a Silver Nissan Altima, turned onto Monument Drive, continuing to Main Street, proceeding southbound on Main Street, prior to turning onto Browns Road, continuing towards Highway 14. Upon reaching Highway 14, the suspect vehicle turned eastbound on Highway 14, prior to turning southbound onto Main Street, proceeding southbound to Monument Drive, where the vehicle proceeded northbound, through the parking lot of a business, back to Highway 14, proceeding westbound on Highway 14, towards Prattville.

Upon reaching the intersection of Highway 14, at I-65, the suspect vehicle turned onto I-65, proceeding northbound, at times reaching speed in excess of 100 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle continued northbound until reaching exit 186, where the vehicle exited onto Highway 31, proceeding through the Laurel Hill residential community, circling back to Highway 31, to I-65, proceeding southbound on I-65, finally coming to a final stop near mile marker 182.

The driver, later identified as Julianna D. Wood, a 28-year-old Prattville resident, was taken into custody without incident or injury. Wood was placed under arrest, being charged with Felony Attempting to Elude, Reckless Endangerment, as well as multiple traffic violations. Wood was transported to the Millbrook Police Department for processing and later turned over to the Elmore County Jail, where she remained under a $36,000.00 bond.

Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this individual reckless driving, as well as her blatant disregard for her personal safety and the safety of other motorist. The officer that observed her initially noticed that her vehicle had sustained damage and felt due to the reckless manner that she was driving, that she may possibly have been involved in and was fleeing from the scene of a traffic collision. Once she was taken into custody, the alleged offender stated that her reason for fleeing from law enforcement was that she was wanted on outstanding warrants from a neighboring county, which proved to be incorrect.
