From: Martha Wilkinson, Theatre Coordinator
Way Off Broadway Theatre
Way Off Broadway Theatre will celebrate World Theatre Day on Friday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the theatre with a free community event honoring the global art of storytelling.
The evening will feature performers sharing dance traditions from Ukraine, India, Belgium, Mexico, China, Vietnam, Japan and the Pacific Islands, and Indonesia. Each piece reflects the history and humanity of its culture, demonstrating how theatre connects communities across borders.
The program will also include musical theatre moments and scenes, showcasing the many forms storytelling can take on stage. The event will take place at Way Off Broadway Theatre at 203 W 4th Street, Prattville.
“World Theatre Day reminds us that while our stories come from different places, they come from the same need — to be seen, to be heard, and to belong,” said Martha Wilkinson Theatre Coordinator, Way Off Broadway Theatre.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit prattvilleal.gov. or call the Cultural Arts Office 334-595-0850.
