Lifelong native and Millbrook resident, Emily Jones, took the stage earlier this month during the Managed Service Providers (MSP) Titans of the Industry Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. This event allowed recipients to walk across the stage and walk the red carpet where the Golden Globe Awards are hosted. Jones was among contestants far and wide and was grateful to be invited to attend the prestigious event.

Jones was joined by her biggest supporter and husband, Huie Jones. Operations Manager, Katherine Gray, who Jones says is her right and left arm in business, also joined her for the event. Her children and grandchildren were cheering her on from home. This was the MSP Titans of the Industryโ€™s second annual event and Jonesโ€™s second year being nominated.

Jones was nominated for the Woman Owned/Led category of honor. To enter, contestants were charged with the task of telling their story as a woman in the technology world. This submission was reviewed by industry peers, and Jones was ultimately chosen as a nominee.

Jones was not lacking in content for her story as she has an impressive background that is made up of over 35 years of experience. Her career began in the technology sector, providing her with early exposure to the evolution of information technology. Jones gained significant industry experience during her tenure of over a decade with NCR Corporation.

By the end of her tenure with NCR, she taught computer classes at Auburn University at Montgomeryโ€™s Continuing Education program. Though Jones may not call herself a teacher, she has a passion for helping others succeed โ€” a theme that has continued throughout her career. She notes her favorite aspect of her role is โ€œhelping others to be able to elevate themselves.โ€

Jones maximized her experience at NCR and as a computer instructor, leveraging this knowledge into a successful career. She played a foundational role in establishing the technology group at Jackson Thornton Account and Counsulting, serving with distinction at Jackson Thornton Technology Group for two decades. Jones currently holds the position of Principal at Warren Averett Technology Group, part of the Warren Averett Accounting and Advisory firm.

โ€œItโ€™s true God has a path for you even when you donโ€™t know what that path is,โ€ said Jones.

Her extensive experience and expertise earned her recognition as the winner in the Women Owned/Led category at the MSP Titans of the Industry awards earlier this month. Jones expressed her gratitude for being selected as one of the finalists from a global pool of nominees in this distinguished category.

โ€œI was both shocked and honored when I heard them call my name,โ€ said Jones.

This industry is notably a male-dominated field, but Jones has earned her spot as an MSP Titan through her hard work and dedication.

โ€œIf you can get up and eat a bowl of stress for breakfast and enjoy it, it might be the field for you,โ€ said Jones.

Although she is humbled and immensely grateful for this achievement, Jones states that it is hard to talk about earning this award as an individual as she would prefer it be about her team as a whole. With a big smile, she made sure to say that Huie, her husband, has been the one to lift her up and do all the talking about her winning this award.

As far as what this award means to her, Jones said, โ€œWhat this award says to me is, I did something right. Iโ€™ve had a positive impact and in some form or fashion helped others to be the best they can be.โ€
