Millbrook Alabama
On June 26, 2025, Millbrook police responded to Walmart with regard to a theft. A representative of the business reported that (3) individuals entered the business, leaving with merchandise valued in excess of $800.00, without remitting payment. Officers completed a report, collecting video evidence obtained from loss prevention personnel.
Millbrook detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigative Unit, submitted photographs of the alleged offenders obtained from the business’ video surveillance system to Crime Stoppers. This agency received a tip submitted by Crime Stoppers, which led to the arrest of one of the alleged offenders on September 11, 2025. During an interview with said offender, detectives received the partial name/nickname of an additional suspect in this case. Detectives were able to develop additional information, which eventually led to the identity of an alleged co-defendant in this case, Tyrese K. Jones, a 26-year-old Montgomery resident. Pursuant to an investigation, a warrant for Jones’ arrest was obtained, being one count of Organized Retail Theft.
On October 29, 2025, the alleged offender Tyrese K. Jones was taken into custody in Montgomery. Jones was turned over to the Millbrook Police Department, being transported to the Millbrook Police Department for processing. Jones was later transported to the Elmore County Jail, where he remains under a $30,000.00 bond.
We continue to make arrests in these Organized Retail Theft cases. As I’ve previously stated, it never ceases to amaze me that people have the thought process that they can simply walk into a business, retrieve property and walk out without paying. You may get out of the parking lot without being apprehended, but it doesn’t end there.
Most businesses utilize video surveillance, employ loss prevention personnel and actively work with law enforcement to report and identify the individuals perpetrating these property crimes. Our detectives are very skilled at utilizing technology, as well as partnerships with organizations like Crime Stoppers and our relationships with our law enforcement partners in surrounding jurisdictions to facilitate identifying and apprehending these offenders. In short, if you commit these crimes in our city……. You can anticipate a meeting with our detectives, followed by a trip to the Elmore County Jail and prosecution, which could lead to a conviction and prison sentence. You are gambling with your freedom, while betting against the House. As evidenced by this and many other recent cases, the odds are not in your favor.
