More than 85 vehicles filled Village Green Park in Millbrook on Saturday as the Capitol City Corvette Club hosted its annual “Cars on the Green” car show, drawing auto enthusiasts from across Alabama for a day of cars, community and charity. Trophies were presented to the top 25 vehicles and for best of show. Attendees were able to buy raffles for door prizes, a 50/50 raffle drawing, purchase food from the food trucks onsite.
“I want thank the City of Millbrook for letting us use their beautiful park for our car show! Thank you for our vendors, Kona Ice, Sweet Sips, and Front Porch Grill for coming out and taking care of all the people. I also want to thank all the people that came out with their vehicles to the car event. We have had car clubs from Anniston and other parts of Alabama that came today. We had the biggest turnout of Corvettes I have ever seen in a car show! We had a great time today,” said David Dodd, President of the Capitol City Corvette Club.
All proceeds from the event were donated to two charities that the Capitol City Corvette Club picks each year. This year the two charities picked were The Grove MGM and The Heart of Alabama Food Bank. The club has been raising funds throughout the year and will present a check to each charity organization in November.
Capitol City Corvette Club is a non-profit charity organization. They are the only Corvette Club in Central Alabama, with theirmain emphasis on promoting the enjoyment and fellowship with other loyal Corvette Owners. They have 80 family members in the club. Even if you do not own a Corvette, just having the passion is all you need to join them.
If you missed the event today, the car show will be back next year on the first Saturday in November. For more information about the club, please check out their website at: https:///www.capitolcitycorvetteclub.org.
