Baylee Rogers has amassed an impressive set of statistics and honors for the Prattville Christian Academy volleyball team. She has more than 1,000 digs and 4,000 assists in her high school volleyball career. In 2024, Rogers was named to the Class 4A 1st Team All State by the Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association. She was named Class 3A 1st Team All State in 2023. She also participated in the AHSAA All-Star North-South Volleyball game this past summer. Rogers helped PCA to the Class 4A state championship last season, and is hoping that the team will re-peat in Birmingham Wednesday and Thursday.

Last week, Rogers committed to continue her volleyball career at the University of Mobile.

“I spent lots of time in prayer about my future and where I thought the Lord was leading me,” said Rogers. “As I kept praying I felt the Lord call me to missions! I had some different opportunities and paths I could take but something just always brought me back to Mobile. Mobile offers a degree in Christian Ministry and has classes specifically for missionary work! So with that it was an easy decision, I get to go and learn and take classes on being a missionary and be given the opportunities to go out and do mission work too while also getting to still play volleyball! I had all options in one, so how could I not chose Mobile!”

Rogers was invited to practice with the University of Mobile team in April and toured the campus in July.

“The campus is beautiful! Everything is super close and in walking distance. They also do lots of fun events and keep students involved with fun activities all around campus all the time! Which was a big deal to me since I like to stay active,” said Rogers.

Rogers cited Head Volleyball Coach Kaylon Cantrell and Head Basketball Coach Jason Roberson as two coaches that assisted her in the process of choosing a college destination.

“They both talked through with me what my options were and explained to me that no matter which door I chose God was going to use me in that place! They told me to be in prayer and that they would also pray for me! I am truly blessed to be able to play for coaches who not only care about my athletic ability or how I perform on the court but about me as a person and my future after I no longer play for them,” said Rogers.

The Class 4A state tournament will be held Wednesday and Thursday in Birmingham. Rogers is hoping to help the Panthers defend their Class 4A state championship.

“My main goal and our team’s made goal is to win a state championship! So right now we are all set on that one goal and to accomplish that together! But another goal of mine is to truly just soak in every minute I get with my teammates and just enjoy and have fun with each other before it’s all over! My college goal academically is to get my degree which will be in Christian Ministry! Also at Mobile they have lots of opportunities to go on many mission trips and so that is definitely a goal of mine is to go on as many as those as I am able too!”
