The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office announced today that it has established a new charitable organization, The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office Foundation.
Autauga County Sheriff Mark Harrell said “The mission of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office Foundation (ACSOF) is to bring together business, professional, civic, nonprofit organizations and individual citizens to build partnerships and promote public safety in Autauga County. As an independent, private nonprofit organization we are the only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of the Autauga County Sheriff’s office. All funds raised by the foundation will be used to innovate and improve the quality of its services, build bridges with the community, and make Autauga County a safer place to live, work and visit. Our Foundation focuses on four key areas: programs, equipment, training and assistance for our Deputies and Corrections Officers. Community programs and outreach accomplish these goals and help our entire county. We are looking for partners to help us fill these rolls in our community”
The Autauga County Foundation Board of Directors will oversee the everyday operations of the foundation. The Board of Directors consists of: Mark Harrell, Tom Allen, Larry Nixon, Scarlett McGowin, Suprena Tallmage, Charles Moore and Tray Richardson.
Richardson said “I am humbled and honored to serve on the board of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Foundation. I have known Sheriff Harrell for many years, and I know him to be a man of unquestionable integrity, a true servant of the community, and an exceptional leader who places others before himself. The staff of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office exemplifies those same values. Sheriff Harrell and his staff go above and beyond to ensure public safety for all of the citizens of Autauga County. As a former law enforcement officer myself, I know how important support from the public is and this foundation will help to ensure that the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office is able to give back and to serve the citizens of Autauga County. I fully support Sheriff Harrell in creating this foundation which will leave a legacy that will be benefit the citizens of Autauga County for years to come.”
The First project of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Foundation with be the Sheriff’s Rodeo, which will be held February 27&28, 2026.
Which will include a ‘mock rodeo’ for all Autauga County 2nd grade students and the Field of Dreams Program for special needs children and young adults. This event will kick off the Foundation.
