On October 3rd 2025, Airport Road Intermediate School participated in a “Rock Your
School” day event. Rock Your School is a nationwide annual movement by Get Your Teach
On (GYTO) where educators create engaging, out-of-the-box learning experiences for their
students.
Students and teachers were able to dress up as a Rock Star, Space themed, or glow in the
dark attire for the day. Many of the teachers and staff spent time after school to set up their
classrooms to make the learning experience for the children a wonderful experience for
them.
“The purpose of our Rock Your School Day is to inspire a love of learning by encouraging
teachers to create engaging, dynamic, and creative learning experiences that go beyond
traditional classroom methods,” said Assistant Principal Kacy Russell.
She continued, “This movement aims to energize students, celebrate our teachers, and
show that Airport Road can be a fun, exciting, and memorable place where students are
eager to participate and discover their passion for learning.”
Each room was set up in different themes, and the teachers went above and beyond to
make this experience as engaging as they can for their students.
Children enjoyed using different out-of-the-box strategies, being creative, and embarked on
new ways to learn.
Airport Road Intermediate School next event is their annual Harvest Festival on October
23rd, 2025. The time is from 5 PM to 8 PM. Join them for a night of games galore and much more!
