Double Scoop Ice Cream celebrated its grand opening, Aug. 26, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Owned by three sisters, Double Scoop is a local ice cream shop in Prattville serving up a wide variety of flavors from the beloved Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream brand.

“We wanted to open an ice cream shop because everywhere we travel has ice cream places, even in the wintertime, so we wanted one here.” said Sandra Morales, the mom of Double Scoop’s owners.

In addition to ice cream, Double Scoop’s guests can choose from classic cake and waffle cones or indulge in fun, flavored options that make each scoop even sweeter.

“We have sugar-free flavors coming in and seasonal flavors like apple cider donut, caramel apple pie, cinnamon stick, and snap-o-lantern,” said Latoya Powell, co-owner of Double Scoop. “We also want to bring in orange cones to match.”

The sisters are constantly experimenting with creative twists, aiming to provide more than just a sweet treat. Their goal is to make every visit a unique ice cream experience.

“Like most businesses that serve breakfast until a certain time, I was thinking about doing cereal ice cream bowls in the mornings where you can get a bowl of ice cream with your choice of cereal and milk,” said Jaszmine Morales, co-owner of Double Scoop.

In addition to running Double Scoop, the sisters also own and operate All About Cheer, an athletic training facility in Montgomery dedicated to helping aspiring cheerleaders of all skill levels reach their full potential.

“I did doubt it at first because it was hectic with the cheer business, but I’m very glad to be here now,” said Yaszmine Morales, co-owner of Double Scoop. “Everyone who has been in here so far has been very, very supportive.”
