The Town of Pine Level made contribution presentations, Aug. 22, 2024, to the Pine Level Community Center (PLCC) and the Pine Level Volunteer Fire Department (PLVFD).

PLCC received $7,000 in funding. Of that amount, $6,000 will go toward critical roof repairs, and the remaining $1,000 will help offset operating costs, so the center can continue hosting community events.

“We just want to thank the Town of Pine Level for their contribution,” said Michael Petty, Director of PLCC. “We can’t wait for the future to come and to really be able to support and host our community.”

PLVFD received $33,000. These funds will be used to purchase life-saving medical equipment, including an AED and the necessary accessories for both adults and children. The grant will also cover specialized medical equipment for emergency response vehicles and a supply of essential single-use medical items.

“We respond to about 1,300 calls a year, with 80% of those being Emergency Medical Services,” said Austin Worchester, Chief of PLVFD. “This contribution will allow us to keep providing and improving that service.”

The Town of Pine Level is working to strengthen the bonds that bring neighbors together while also looking after the safety and well-being of its residents. Town leaders say the goal is to preserve the close-knit, small-town spirit Pine Level is known for, while continuing to support the people and services that keep the community safe, connected, and thriving.

“We hope to do more in the future, but we are thankful for what we can do today,” said Zachary Bigley, Mayor of Pine Level.
