The Autauga County Board of Education recognized its instructional coaches, Aug. 18, 2025, in a signing ceremony at the Chapter One Center.
Instructional coaches work alongside classroom teachers to strengthen classroom instruction by using student achievement data to guide best practices.
“These coaches have one of the hardest jobs in the building because they not only try to make a student impact, but they are having the hard conversations with teachers about what they need to do to improve their students’ test scores,” said Lyman Woodfin, Superintendent for Autauga County Schools.
The annual signing ceremony highlights the instructional coaches’ ongoing dedication to improving teaching and learning throughout the district.
“I know it’s not easy, but we are so thankful for the coaches’ dedication to the students and the adults,” said Susan Butts, representative from the Alabama State Board of Education. “Nurturing the adults ultimately trickles down to the kids, so we look forward to supporting these coaches in any way we can.”
Autauga County Schools serves nearly 9,000 students and 1,200 employees across 14 campuses in four communities. As the sole public school system in Prattville and Autauga County, the district is dedicated to fostering the whole student in a rigorous, supportive environment where everyone is known, valued, and provided with pathways to success.
