PRATTVILLE, Ala. — Lifelong Prattville resident Thea Langley has announced her candidacy for Prattville City Council, District 7, pledging to focus on strong schools, transparent government, and sustainable economic growth.

Rooted in Prattville

Langley and her husband, Jason, raised four daughters in Prattville—all graduates of Prattville High School—and are now proud grandparents of three. She says her grandchildren inspire her commitment to strengthening partnerships with the Autauga County Board of Education and addressing urgent capital improvements in local schools.

“A community is only as strong as its education system. When schools set a clear path for every student’s success, are equipped with modern technology, and provide a safe environment, students excel. Strong students build strong families, and strong families strengthen Prattville—creating economic growth and fostering lasting opportunity for everyone.”

Economic Growth with Purpose

Langley prioritizes economic development through collaboration between the City of Prattville and Autauga County. Her goal is to attract manufacturing and higher-paying, workforce-oriented jobs that can be life-changing for local families.

“You cannot support a family on retail developments alone,” she said. “We have wonderful eateries and retailers, but we must foster an environment where manufacturers choose Prattville because of our hometown community, successful schools, and safe environment.”

Supporting Local Businesses

Langley supports a buy-local-first ordinance requiring the city to purchase from Prattville vendors when bids are within 3% of the lowest price. “Supporting local starts at the top,” she said. “If the City of Prattville doesn’t buy local, how can we expect our citizens to do the same?”

A Campaign of Education, Transparency, and Fiscal Responsibility

Her campaign emphasizes educationtransparency, and fiscal responsibility, with a commitment to give District 7 residents a strong and informed voice on the council.
