PRATTVILLE, Ala. – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church hosts Mary’s Mini Market, Aug. 16, 2025, to raise money for Mary’s Haven Pregnancy and Family Resource Center.

Mary’s Haven is a crisis pregnancy and family resource center that provides all services completely free of charge. Pregnancy tests are available any time while they are open, and ultrasounds are available on Wednesdays by appointment only. Through their Earn While You Learn program, parents-to-be can attend a variety of classes, earning points that can be redeemed for essential baby items. Mary’s Haven is also conscientious of those who have received abortions, offering post-abortion care and counseling.

“We serve anyone who comes through our doors, and fundraisers like this mini market allow us to get parents-to-be whatever they may need,” said Monica Hamell, Director of Mary’s Haven.

These necessary items, such as diapers, wipes, strollers, and car seats, come at a significant cost, however. To help keep these vital supplies in stock, Mary’s Haven relies heavily on donations and fundraising efforts. Wanting to make a difference, St. Joseph’s stepped in to help support their mission.

“The idea was to have a big market in October, but we have never done one before,” said Donn Bellmore, St. Joseph’s host of Mary’s Mini Market. “We decided to have a little experiment here today with a limited number of vendors just to see how it goes.”

From clothes and jewelry to fresh vegetables and honey, vendors from around the community have set up at the market in support of Mary’s Haven. Food and drinks are also available for purchase.

“We don’t know if we are going to sell anything today, but we are having a good time, and it’s for a good cause,” said Bellmore.

Mary’s Mini Market, located at 511 N Memorial Drive in Prattville, is open today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
