Elmore Resident Arrested on Multiple Charges following a Vehicle Pursuit

From: Millbrook Police Department

Millbrook, Alabama

On July 27, 2025, Millbrook police received a complaint regarding the theft of lawn equipment from a lawn service trailer, which occurred in the area of Charleston Place. A witness was able to provide an excellent description, which led to the alleged offender being identified as Robert J. Davis Jr., a 27-year-old Elmore resident. Detectives with the Millbrook Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit obtained warrants for Davis’ arrest for charges of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle and Theft of Property 4th Degree.

On August 12, 2025, officers with the Millbrook Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit observed Davis travelling westbound on Highway 14. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, at which point Davis refused to stop, turning southbound onto I-65, continuing into Montgomery at speeds reaching in excess of 100 miles per hour, at times, in an attempt to elude officers.

Officers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery Police Department and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Aviation Unit responded to the area to assist. The vehicle pursuit terminated behind several businesses on the Mobile Highway, at which point the alleged offender fled into a wooded area on foot, in a further attempt to evade arrest. Responding officers were able to quickly establish a perimeter, effectively surrounding the immediate area. A Montgomery Police Department K-9 unit tracked down Davis, who was hidden in the wooded area, at which point he immediately surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody without incident or injury.

Davis was placed under arrest, being additionally charged with Felony Attempting to Elude and Reckless Endangerment. Davis was transported to the Millbrook Police Department, where he was processed and later transported to the Elmore County Jail, pending additional warrants being obtained and served.

”This situation ended about as well as it could,” said Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson. “Despite this individual’s reckless actions and total disregard for the safety of others, as well as his own, with the assistance of our law enforcement partners from the surrounding area, we were able to take this alleged offender into custody without anyone being injured.”

Johnson went on to state “Our Street Crimes Unit had been attempting to locate this individual for some time now, which I believe he was aware of. Ideally, Mr. Davis should have surrendered to law enforcement when they attempted to stop him on Highway 14. As all too frequently occurs in these situations, he apparently thought he could evade arrest by fleeing in a vehicle. In reality he literally fled from our officers into an area that was occupied by a lot more officers than what he thought he was attempting to elude.”

“I want to extend our sincere appreciation to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery Police Department for their assistance in apprehending this alleged offender. Criminal offenders need to understand that we actively and intentionally engage in partnerships within the law enforcement community at the federal, state and local levels, so that when situations like today occur, we are there to assist one another to bring criminal offenders to justice. In speaking with our detectives, it is my understanding that this young man also has an active felony warrant with the Prattville Police Department and is currently on State Probation for a previous conviction, so coupled with his actions today, this young man faces additional/serious consequences beyond those he faced prior to this morning.”
