What does summer taste like? Some would argue it is a tomato sandwich, messy and wonderful.
If you are a fan of tomato sandwiches, The Wetumpka Farmers Market will highlight them with a special day July 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along with the general market, FREE tomato sandwiches, chips and water will be given away. You can also enter to win a basket of market vendor’s products. The drawing will be Aug. 1. This event is sponsored by the River Region Law Firm.
The farmers market will be held at 304 E. Coosa Street in Wetumpka! We hope to see you there.
Just for fun, what is the perfect tomato sandwich in your opinion? Mine is a couple of big slices of tomato, on white bread, plenty of mayo, onion slices and lots of black pepper. The messier, the better.
Call me crazy, but I love to head over to our garden in the summer, pluck a warm tomato off the vine, and eat it like an apple.
