Equality man dies after single-vehicle crash in Coosa County

ALEX CITY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, has claimed the life of an Equality man. Edward L. Gilbert, 62, was fatally injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Impala he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Gilbert was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 22 near the 99 mile marker, approximately three miles east of Rockford, in Coosa County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
