ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. – The Elmore County Economic Development Authority (ECEDA) is proud to once again sponsor the 68th Alabama Open, scheduled for July 22–24, 2025, at the renowned Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville. This marks the third consecutive year the championship will be held at this premier venue, with a record turnout of players anticipated.

Widely recognized as Alabama’s state golf championship, the Alabama Open is the most prestigious tournament in the state, drawing top-tier professional and amateur golfers from across the region.

As part of its mission to drive economic growth through business development, tourism, and community investment, ECEDA sees the Alabama Open as a prime opportunity to boost the local economy and showcase Elmore County’s outdoor recreation and hospitality assets.

“In addition to highlighting the incredible RTJ golf experience, the Alabama Open allows us to spotlight all of Elmore County’s tourism offerings,” said Lisa Van Wagner, Executive Director of ECEDA.

The event is expected to bring in players, their families, fans, and officials, who will stay in local hotels, dine in area restaurants, and shop at nearby businesses, generating a substantial economic impact for the community.

“The tournament has made a tremendous difference for our local economy over the past two years,” Van Wagner added. “We’re excited to welcome the Alabama Open back to Elmore County in 2025.”

The tournament format features 54 holes of individual stroke play, with a cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes. All competitors will play from the same yardage, and final cut sizes may vary based on total entries.
