Obituary for Mr. Arthur “Art” Edward Elsner
Mr. Arthur “Art ” Edward Elsner age 84, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with military honors to follow. Pastor Dave Cyr will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

During his tenure with the City of Millbrook Mr. Elsner wore many hats. Aside from the longtime City Attorney role, he was also city clerk, helped to run elections for the city, and served under two administrations. He was very active in community events, and often sought for his sage advice.
Millbrook Police Chief P.K Johnson said, “He was a great man, who was both a good friend and mentor to me since my arrival in Millbrook 29 years ago. Art was an integral part of the City of Millbrook Alabama for many years, even after he officially retired, he continued to serve our City.”
Millbrook City Council President Michael Gay said, “Art was a great friend, public servant and family man. I will miss him. He was first my teacher then became my friend and advisor and mentor. Please know our prayers and thoughts are with his family. Art will be missed. He was a great man.”
