Michael Combs to kick off Southern Gospel Tour at Tallassee’s Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center

Southern Gospel recording artist Michael Combs will perform at Tallassee’s Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center, located at 319 Barnett Blvd, on Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m. Combs has built a notable career over more than 30 years, recognized not only for his vocal talent but also for his inspirational story and ministry through music.

On his website, Combs reflects, “We have been blessed to see hundreds give their hearts to Jesus in our Services!”  This passion has fueled a successful career that includes multiple awards and nominations within the gospel music community.

Tallassee marks the first stop on a three-day tour, during which Combs will perform in three different cities on consecutive nights. In 2018, he received the Academy of Gospel Music’s (AGM) Music Video of the Year award for his song “Good Versus Evil.” The following year, he was honored as AGM’s Fan Favorite Artist of the Year. Additionally, Combs earned a nomination for Favorite Soloist from The Singing News, a respected publication within the Southern Gospel genre.

One of his signature songs, “Drinking from the Saucer,” has proven particularly popular with fans, accumulating over 913,000 views on YouTube. This song remains a staple in his performances and is well-loved by gospel audiences.
