Saturday, in between the rain, the banks of Pratt Pond were filled with kids and their families enjoying a day to let the little ones fish.
Squeals of delight and laughter echoed across the water, on an otherwise dreary day. Registration filled up quickly for this annual event. Check out the photo gallery below.
Coming up next is the Senior Fish Fest, which gives our older residents a chance for a day of fishing at a cost of just $2. There is a limit of seven fish to take home per senior.
Both of these events are sponsored by the Prattville Parks and Recreation Department.
This event coming Wednesday is for seniors 50 years of age and up only.
Bring your own lawn chair, fishing equipment, bait, hat, umbrella, sunblock and sunglasses. It’s a nice way to spend a day sitting by the pond fishing and possibly bring home supper. No fishing license is needed if you are 65 and up. (Residents 64 and younger are required to have a fishing license unless they are fishing in the county of their residence with a pole having no reel.)
