State of AL v. Kenneth Stevenson (CC-2023-339)
From District Attorney CJ Robinson
19th Judicial District
In February 2025, a Chilton County jury found Kenneth Stevenson, of Alabaster, guilty of Rape 1st, Sodomy 1st, two counts of Incest, two counts of Sexual Abuse 1st, and two counts of Enticing a Child for Immoral Purposes.
Circuit Judge Joy Pace Booth sentenced Kenneth Stevenson to a total of 130 years in prison. 35 years for Rape 1st, 35 years for Sodomy 1st, and two 10-year sentences for each count of Incest. These sentences will run consecutive to each other resulting in him “actually serving” 100 years in prison. Additionally, Stevenson received 40 years for the lesser charges which will run concurrent with each other and consecutive to the Class A felonies.
The victims in this case were thirteen and eight at the time of the abuse, and prosecutors were able to prove Stevenson sexually abused both victims on different occasions. On at least one occasion Stevenson sexually abused the victims at the same time and forced them to commit sexual acts on one another.
District Attorney CJ Robinson said, “It is never easy to take on a case of this type and spend hours reviewing evidence and witness testimony of such sickening criminal acts. The strength it took for the victims to stand up to this monster is unimaginable, and they are heroes. The facts of this case should disgust us all and if the death penalty were available as a punishment for his crimes, he 100 % deserves it… but Judge Booth has sent a strong message and 100 years behind bars will definitely keep him from hurting another child.
I am grateful to the Jemison Police Department for their investigation and the work of the professionals at Butterfly Bridge, alongside the efforts of the prosecutors, victim service officers, and investigators in our office who tirelessly worked to ensure justice was served.”
