The Prattville Police Department, with the assistance of its federal partners, and the Millbrook Police Department conducted an undercover operation targeting child sex predators on 03-28-2025 through 03-30-2025. This operation was conducted in the City of Prattville.
During the operation, undercover officers posed as children under the age of 16 and chatted with possible child sex predators via electronic devices. During the operation, multiple offenders agreed to meet with the children and exchange money for sexual acts. The Prattville Police Department was able to arrest eight suspects who agreed to the act and actually travelled to a location to meet the children.
At the time of arrest, Owen Strizic was a middle school music teacher in Wisconsin. The school he was employed with has been notified of the arrest.
Cenan Berrera attempted to escape after being handcuffed but was quickly stopped. This has been an ongoing investigation and there are more charges pending on the suspects that were arrested. There are also additional suspects that may be charged once more evidence is collected.
It is important to note that not all of the suspects that chat with the children are caught and these suspects are targeted in future operations. The Prattville Police Department attempts to keep these details quiet as to not warn the suspects that they were almost caught.
The Prattville Police Department appreciates the relationship they share with most of the media outlets in the area who were understanding when details were not released. The details on this operation were shared by a news outlet in an uninvolved city so The Prattville Police Department is now releasing this information to all of our media partners.
