The forecast for Saturday is going to be mild, and sunny. It would be a perfect day to take part in Prattville’s FREE historic walking tours through downtown.

The event is back, and hosted by the Prattaugan Museum. Simply meet up at the museum before 10 a.m. to take part. The address is 102 Main Street. For more information, call 361-0961. For some history, visit www.autaugahistory.org

Director Jordan Scott hopes the word will spread about this event, for both new and older residents alike. This is great for someone new to the area, but also residents who may not know the actual history of the buildings they pass on a regular basis.

“The tours this month are every Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and beginning at the Prattaugan Museum! There will be two rotating tour guides. Each tour will focus on different areas of downtown, such as residential or Main Street. The final tour will be a combination of everything!
Scott said the tour should not take more than an hour.

“We don’t want to exhaust everyone with all of the walking! We are so excited for these walking tours. Participation is free!”

So, put on some walking shoes Saturday and come out to hear from knowledgeable guides about the buildings, residential areas, and great stories of the past. Please share to spread the word.

Bob Ealum attended this past Saturday and captured a few photos. Skip Lobmiller served as the tour guide for the day.
