Police Department
On 04/06/25 at approx. 0800 HRS, Prattville Police Officers were flagged down about a sexual assault that had just occurred at a park in the City of Prattville. Patrol officers converged on the area and immediately apprehended a suspect with the aid of the modernized security and surveillance equipment in the park. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that victim and suspect, Roderick Harris, arrived at the park together. The two sat having conversation for some time. When the victim tried to walk back to her vehicle, Harris allegedly forced her into a bathroom at the park where he reportedly sexually assaulted her.
Harris was arrested and charged with Rape 1st and Sodomy 1st, Harris is being held with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing. This is an ongoing investigation and the release of information will be limited out of respect for the victim and the integrity of the investigation.
