On Monday, March 31, 2025 at approximately 2340 hrs. Kelmen Merrell King, 27, of Autaugaville, Alabama allegedly shot and killed a transgender woman, then shot an adult male in the head. It appears that King attempted to carjack the victims when it turned deadly. The adult male was treated at Baptist Hospital and released. King fled on foot but Sheriff Harrell says he is now in custody.
Autauga County Investigators are actively working this case, and no further information is available at this time. We will update when possible.
