On Saturday, the Realty Connection held their 8th annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Lanark in Millbrook. Each year the Alabama Nature Center partners with the Realty Connection to have an amazing event for the children of the community for Easter and Halloween. There were over 300 families in attendance for this year’s Easter event and 3,200 eggs were hidden in three fields for different age groups for the children to find. Two golden eggs were also hidden in each field and the lucky winners received an Easter basket filled with goodies. There were games to play at the various vendor booths, prizes for children, photos with live bunnies, cotton candy, and food.

Barry Chrietzberg Photography had live bunny pictures for families to purchase. Woody’s Italian Ice was on site as well. General admission applied at the event and all proceeds went back to the Nature Center.

“We had a wonderful Easter Eggstravaganza event Saturday with some great weather,” said Aquatic Education Resource Assistant Matt Vines.

He continued, “We had three different eggs hunts, games, food, pictures and more! Thank you to all of our staff and the volunteers that took time out of their weekend to come help make this event a success. We had about 22 staff and volunteers help with the event.”

One of the families that attended spoke to EAN about the event.

“This is our third year participating in the Eggstravaganza and we look forward to it every year,” said the Bickhaus family.

They continued, “It’s one of the best community Easter functions with such great organization and sponsorship support. Families with children of all ages have a wonderful experience!”

“Our 8th Annual Easter Eggstravanza was so much fun,” said Realty Connection Owner Robin Davies.

She continued, “We really love hosting this event with the Alabama Wildlife Federation. Our partnership with them has really allowed our events to grow and showcase their amazing facility at the same time. I want to thank our amazing sponsors: Garry McAnnally LLC, Trustmark Bank, Michael Gay- State Farm, F&E Sportswear, Keepin It Clean, Nancy Kirby Law Office, Standard Air, PestPros, Floor & Decor, The Church of The Highlands and our Honorary Sponsors: Family Support Center and Butterfly Bridge. Without these amazing local companies, hosting this event would not be possible as we are a small locally owned company and their support of us allows us to do so much more than we could on our own. Watching the more than 300 people who came out to enjoy a beautiful day and have tons of fun was ‘Eggsiting’!

“With the three egg hunts we held, we had over 3,200 easter eggs filled with candy for the kids to find – not to mention the 2 golden eggs in each age group who won a basket full of Easter goodies. Congratulations to our Golden Egg winners and to the winners of the multiple giveaways that our sponsors offered. In between hunts our sponsors had tables with games set up and prizes for the kids to win. We had cotton candy, cold drinks and hot dogs for all to enjoy as well. All in all, it was just really a great day to have fun and visit with the community. Make sure to be on the lookout for our 9th Annual Halloween Carnival in October!”
