Randy Stough, PCA’s softball coach, will be retiring as the head coach after this season. He will remain on staff as a teacher the following school year.
Coach Stough began coaching at PCA in 2013. This season, Coach Stough experienced his 800th victory of his coaching career. He has been faithfully committed to PCA softball, leading the team to a state championship in 2018 and a state runner-up finish in 2022.
Of ten opportunities to go to the state tournament, PCA has been eight times under his leadership. We are grateful for Coach Stough’s service to PCA and how he has helped our softball program consistently strive for success. Coach Stough said that he and Mrs. Stough look forward to traveling and spending more time with their grandchildren after 37 years of coaching.
Chris Puckett, PCA assistant softball coach, will become the head coach upon the completion of this season. Coach Puckett holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sports and Health Sciences. He brings a great deal of knowledge and experience in both coaching softball and strength and conditioning. Previously, he served as the strength and conditioning coach for Auburn University at Montgomery, where he focused on softball for seven years and worked with all sports for an additional three years. Coach Puckett has aided PCA students with strength and conditioning for several years and has been an assistant coach with PCA softball for the past two years.
We encourage you to congratulate both of these coaches as they begin a new journey and pray for them through this transition. 💜🐾
