Charis McHenry, a student at Marbury High School, has been crowned Miss Sylacauga’s Teen 2025. The title was awarded to McHenry during the 87th annual Miss Sylacauga Competition, held at Sylacauga High School.
McHenry, who is from Autauga County, has been passionate about dance since the age of two. She trains at C.J. Dance Factory, where she has honed her skills and developed a deep love for ballet. “Dancing has always been my way of expressing myself,” said McHenry. “I knew I wanted to share my passion for ballet with all of Alabama.”
Beyond her love for the stage, McHenry is dedicated to community service. Her initiative, “Life Without Limits: Advocating for Children and Adults with Cerebral Palsy,” is especially close to her heart. She has worked to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by the condition. One of her most cherished memories from this journey was collaborating with her older sister, Abigail, who has cerebral palsy, to design custom T-shirts promoting their cause. “Abigail created a masterpiece on the shirts, and it was so fulfilling to share them with others,” McHenry shared.
Growing up as one of six siblings, McHenry finds joy in being part of a large, loving family. “There’s never a dull moment in our house,” she said. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
McHenry now sets her sights on the upcoming Miss Alabama’s Teen competition. With grace, talent, and purpose, she is ready to represent her community on an even larger stage.
