Mitchell Bassett to be remembered with ‘End the 22 Poker Run’ March 29

March 29th, the “End the 22 Poker Run” in memory of CPL Mitchell Bassett will begin at noon at the Harley Davidson of Montgomery. Stops will include American Legion Post 133, American Legion Post 122, VFW 1349 and end at the Pine Bar Courtyard in Old Cloverdale, Montgomery.

There is a $20 per person fee, but you do not have to partake in the ride to donate. The event is open to any and all vehicles. A portion of the proceeds will go to VB422, Veteran Bikers 4 22 a Day.

Registration begins at Harley Davidson at 10:30 a.m..

This ride is to bring awareness to the average of 22 current or military personnel who take their own life every day.

The ride will end at the Pine Bar Courtyard in Old Cloverdale at approximately 4 p.m. Entertainment at the Pine Bar Courtyard will include Best Hand Wins cash prize, door prizes, raffles, guest speakers and live music.

***This is a benefit ride. Proceeds going to me and a portion of those proceeds will go back to a ride veterans day week in 2026 to help

About Mitchell:

Mitchell Bassett was well known in the Autauga and Elmore areas. He was born in Birmingham and raised in central Alabama. He joined the Marine Corp in 2007 and was medically retired in 2014 with combat related PTSD, moral injury, and service related to permanent physical disability 10 years after being separated. On Nov. 29 of last year, Mitchell lost his battle.
