On Monday, multiple area pastors gathered at 17 Springs in Millbrook to tour Phase II and pray over the grounds. They were given a tour by Millbrook Council President Michael Gay. The official Grand Opening will be held and open to the public February 18, beginning at 3 p.m.. The public is invited to attend. There will be personnel on hand for parking guidance, and to guide those attending to the official celebration which will take place near the Field House.
UPDATED: Below is a list of pastors that we have confirmed attended the event. If we have missed one, please email [email protected] and we will edit the list.
Jason Tew (Claud Church), Father Den Irwin (St Joseph’s Catholic Church), Jim Graham (Coosada Baptist), Jeremy Powers (House of Restoration), Ronnie Baker (Legacy Faith Assembly), Derwin Perry ( Goodship Missionary Baptist), David Jones (Prospect Baptist Church), Mike Ingram (Millbrook Baptist), DJ Stinard ( Gathering Place), Tyler Cox ( Millbrook First Methodist), Janet Krantz (Robinson Springs Church), Jonathan Prickett, (originally from our area, and now a pastor in Colquitt, GA), and Dale Bain (Church of the Brook).
Pastor Janet Hale Krantz is one who attended. She had this to say:
“Almost eight years ago Andy and I became part of the Millbrook community as I came to pastor at Robinson Springs Church. We quickly fell in love with the people of the church, the local businesses, neighbors, with the things to do and the heart of our community leaders. (Monday) I was privileged to pray with 12 pastors representing various churches as we toured the new multi sports complex 17 Springs. We walked the grounds and gave many thanks for the work and opportunities to come thru this marvelous facility. The collaboration of five entities that orchestrated and carried out a huge vision was echoed in our prayers of many pastors from area churches. I pray we see the citizens of Millbrook and our visiting guests join together in a similar spirit of unity. I pray all will enjoy the many events and activities at 17 Springs while extending grace as we grow into how to run this journey well! Thank you, Michael Gay, for being our tour guide – you are a champ!”
Pastor Jeremy Powers also took part in the tour and prayer, and said this:
“I had the privilege along with 12 other pastors/clergy to pray over 17 springs. Seeing the vision of five different areas of Elmore County come together to create 17 springs is a beautiful place and a great addition to the City of Millbrook/Elmore County, that many far and near will have the opportunity to enjoy. To be from Millbrook seeing how far it has come has been a blessing to see, I love serving the city and county that God has allowed me to be part of for 41 years. Thank you, Michael Gay, for giving us a great tour with knowledge of 17 Springs and the future ahead.”
The five partners in 17 Springs are City of Millbrook, Elmore County Commission, Elmore County Economic Development Authority, Elmore Count Schools and the Montgomery Area United Way/Grandview Family YMCA.
