Wetumpka High School “NERDS” host green power electric race car event

The Wetumpka High School “NERDS” engineering team, led by Virginia Vilardi, hosted an electrifying Green Power electric race car event on Saturday, bringing together more than 40 teams from across the region to compete in this innovative STEM-based challenge.

The event, held on a specially designed course, showcased the hard work, creativity, and technical skills of student teams who built and raced fully electric vehicles. The competition tested not only speed but also engineering design, energy efficiency, and problem-solving abilities.

The Wetumpka High School NERDS continue to be at the forefront of STEM education, inspiring students to push the boundaries of science and technology. Congratulations to all the teams who competed and to Wetumpka High for an outstanding event!
