On Friday, January 17, three Marbury High School baseball players signed scholarships. The trio of Bulldogs have been friends since attending pre-school together at Pine Level. All three are returning starters that hope to lead Marbury to a successful 2025 season.

Benton Howell and Koen Sampley both signed with Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia while Seth Turner signed with Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City.

Howell is a left-handed pitcher that also plays 1st base and outfield. He visited LBW in the fall and chose the school based on the program’s success and culture, coaching staff, facilities, and having family in the area.

Turner is an outfielder and a pitcher for the Bulldogs. He visited Chattahoochee Valley in November and was offered after throwing a bullpen session. He chose the school based on the coaches, the area, and a friend that is also on the team.

Sampley pitches for Marbury, and also plays shortstop and 3rd base. He will be attending LBW in Andalusia.
