Elmore County: Due to extreme cold, Safer Places are available

Safer Places Open
Due to extreme cold, Elmore County has activated the Safer Places program as Warming Stations. These are Warming Stations so citizens must remember to bring all needed supplies such as water, food, snacks, chairs, blankets, and any other supplies.
Below are the locations and hours for Sunday, January 19, 2025, through Wednesday, January 22, 2025:
• First Presbyterian Church, 100 West Bridge Street, Wetumpka, AL 36092
o Will open on Sunday and Sanctuary will be open 24 hours a day
• Millbrook First Methodist Church, 3350 Edgewood Road, Millbrook, AL 36054
o Will open on Sunday night at 10 pm to 10 am Monday
o Will open on Monday night at 10 pm to 10 am Tuesday
o Will open on Tuesday night at 10 pm to 10 am Wednesday
• Elmore – Elmore Fire Station 1, 1245 AL Hwy 143, Elmore AL
o Will open on Sunday night at midnight to 10 am Monday
o Will open on Monday night at midnight to 10 am Tuesday
o Will open on Tuesday night at midnight to 10 am Wednesday
• Deatsville Fire Department, 6930 Hwy 143, Deatsville, AL 36022
o Will open on Sunday and remain open thru Wednesday. Will be open 24 hours a day
• Tallassee Police Department, 214 Barnett Blvd, Tallassee, AL 36078
o Will open on Sunday and remain open thru Wednesday. Will be open 24 hours a day
• Prattville Public Safety Building, 201 Gin Shop Hill Road, Prattville, AL 36067
o Will open on Sunday and remain open thru Wednesday. Will be open 24 hours a day
• Coosada Town Hall/VFD, 5800 Coosada Rd., Coosada, AL 36020
o Will open on Monday at 3 am – 10 am
o Will open on Tuesday at 3 am – 10 am
o Will open on Wednesday at 3 am – 10 am
• First Baptist Eclectic 203 Claude Road, Eclectic AL 36025
o Will open on Sunday night at 10 pm to 10 am Monday
o Will open on Monday night at 10 pm to 10 am Tuesday
o Will open on Tuesday night at 10 pm to 10 am Wednesday
• Elmore County Courthouse, 100 E. Commerce St., Wetumpka, AL 36092
o Open on Sunday at 5 pm to 10 am Monday (MLK Jr. Holiday).
o Open on Monday at 5 pm – 8 am on Tuesday. The courthouse is scheduled to be open on Tuesday. (*Could change due to winter weather)
o Open on Tuesday at 5 pm – 8 am on Wednesday. The courthouse is scheduled to be open on Wednesday. (*Could change due to winter weather)
