One fatality reported in Prattville House Fire this morning

From the Prattville

Fire Department

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 9:07AM, a call came into Autauga 911 reporting a structure fire at 314 Summerhill Road in Prattville. Battalion 1, Ladder 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Rescue 21, and Rescue 22 were dispatched within one minute of the original 911 call and began arriving on scene four minutes later.

The first arriving units reported a mobile home with heavy fire and smoke visible. A working fire was announced and an aggressive primary search for victims was initiated simultaneously with suppression efforts. Prattville firefighters encountered high heat and heavy fire conditions but were able to locate and remove a seventeen[1]year-old male and a forty-eight-year-old male from the structure. Both victims immediately received advanced life support care on scene and were transported to Prattville Baptist Emergency Department by Prattville Fire Department personnel within five minutes of being removed from the home.

At this time, we can confirm that the forty-eight-year-old patient did succumb to his injuries at the hospital.

We can also confirm that the seventeen-year-old was transported via helicopter to UAB medical center where he will receive further treatment. We humbly ask for your thoughts and prayers for the victims and their family during this difficult time.

The home has been declared a total loss, and we have offered assistance to the family through Autauga EMA, the Red Cross, and Autauga Interfaith Care Center to the family. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Fire Marshal’s Office.
