Investiture ceremony held for Autauga County officials

Prattville, AL – The Autauga County Courthouse was the setting for an inspiring Investiture Ceremony held Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM. The ceremony honored Jessica K. Sanders, Autauga County District Judge; Debra Hill, Autauga County City Clerk; and Kimberly G. Kervin, Autauga County Judge of Probate.

The ceremony began with prayers offered by Julie Parmer, Andrew Lee Odom, and Judge Amanda Baxley. Carol Cook Carter directed the program, ensuring a smooth event.

Judge Jessica Sanders, who was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey and later elected in November, was unable to attend due to a death in her family. Sanders and her husband reside in Prattville, where they actively contribute to their community and church.

Kimberly G. Kervin, who has served as Probate Judge since 2018, was sworn in for her second term. Reflecting on her tenure. Kim Kervin’s oath was administered by her chief clerk, Heather Hester Huffman.

“I can hardly believe it’s been six remarkable years since I first took office as Judge of Probate for Autauga County! As I mentioned during my first investiture, and as I feel just as strongly today, I absolutely adore my job! Today was extra special as I celebrated my investiture for a second term in office, surrounded by friends and family. Just like my initial investiture, it was a day I will cherish forever. I love Autauga County and can’t wait to spend the next six years pouring love into this county and its residents,” said Kervin.

Debra Hill was also sworn in for her third term as City Clerk by Judge Bill Lewis. Hill is married to Dave Hill.

Hill has a long-standing history of service, having worked with the circuit clerk’s office since June 1980 before retiring in 2011.

The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office also posted a congratulatory message on their Facebook page, celebrating the achievements of the newly sworn-in officials.

The ceremony was a memorable event celebrating dedication and leadership, as these officials prepare to continue serving the citizens of Autauga County with passion and integrity.
